Petition to V&A re. their arms and armour collection

Please sign this - the V&A have an amazing collection, particularly of renaissance swords, and most of it is in storage. They are a large museum and have plenty of space to display this nationally important collection:

Done.

M.
When I was a fighting-man, the kettle-drums they beat,
The people scattered gold-dust before my horses feet;
But now I am a great king, the people hound my track
With poison in my wine-cup, and daggers at my back.

I fundamentally disagree. This is the totally wrong approach. Stockpiling perfectly serviceable weapons is the worst example of national assets being sterilised instead of being put back into circulation. Take a leaf out of the Bank of England's book! These artefacts should be made available to HEMA clubs!

Petition signed.

An update on the page - we have exceeded 2,400 supporters and I have notified the V&A of the petition. A copy of the covering letter is attached to the petition page:

Please keep adding your signatures if you haven't already.

Perhaps some contacts to various media editors might illicit positive response by the museum.

Cheers
