"Timeline" plot in China

Postby Monzambano » 28 Jun 2013 05:46

Archaeologists opening an untouched 400-year-old Chinese tomb were somewhat taken aback to find a Swiss-made ring watch probably around 100 years old:

Read the full, riveting article in the Daily Mail: http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sciencetech/article-1096959/Mystery-century-old-Swiss-watch-discovered-ancient-tomb-sealed-400-years.html

I was intrigued that the distinguished archeologists plumped on the factoid that there was supposedly no "Switzerland" 400 years ago as the dead giveaway that this was dodgy - rather than, say, the technology involved, the modern design or the fact that the legend is in English...

No word on whether this Swiss watch was made in Hong Kong.

It's the daily mail. It's bollocks.

The story may have started with some facts and an actual interview but you won't find any stuff like that in the mail. It's probably a source of pride for the editor.
.... or I could be completely wrong.
