I intend to attend the 2017 Smallsword Symposium over in Scotland. School being what it is here in the United States left me far too drained to even attempt it this year or next. I will, however, likely be at the 2016 one here in Maryland. I enjoyed the one earlier this year though I didn't interact much with anyone.

The people scattered gold-dust before my horses feet;
But now I am a great king, the people hound my track
With poison in my wine-cup, and daggers at my back.

It's definitely worth the trip, at least once, if you can afford it.

We very much enjoyed the American one as well, though the costs of travel were somewhat punitive. If we succeed in our attempts to move house then the increased expense will probably rule out attending the American one for the foreseeable future.

Hi Michael,

Well at least that leaves you plenty of time to train! I'd love to attend the US one but also difficult to justify financially.

I am very fortunate in that I dwell only about 2 hours from Baltimore. Edinburgh is something like an 18 hour (and $1200) flight. Which dumps me in a foreign country. If I can somehow shirk the Navy's new degree requirements, I do intend to do it in 2017. I actually plan to make it a week long excursion, though I've not decided if I'd want to go to London and take a train on up, or fly more or less directly to the city.
