Actually, what I was trying to get across, and it seems I have done it badly, is that in my first example I am cutting at your head with my long edge. I don't switch edges until I see you cut up into hangen. I am not cutting into you with me long edge, at worst it is with my flat and you will whip it around for me.

Further, if I was using it to displace your uberhaw, I might even cut into you with my flat.

And I am not saying that you are wrong. I just don't buy into the "one true way".

Btw: A little advise! Take it or leave it! :P

I might even cut into you with my flat
Please be very carefull using the flat of your sword!. You hands are "SO" weak while doing this!

I see where Dave is coming from, but that sounds more like the definition of "INDES" as opposed to a Glancing strike.
