English translation of PH Mair Sickle section

Postby Reinier » 17 May 2010 08:55

Greetings all,

Finally completed (as far as these things ever are), the English translation of the latin text on sickle fighting from Paulus Hector Mair’s De Arte Athletica (BSB Cod.icon. 393(1)) made by Saskia Roselaar and myself is now available online on the Noorderwind website. It can be found here:

If you have any questions regarding this document, don’t hesitate to contact me.

Enjoy and stay safe!

Depends on how fast you can work on it :p

I currently have no plans to work with the Ringen material,

I am very sorry. There's just so much material to work with, and Saskia, who does almost all of the work in translating the Latin for us has a job too...

I am very interested in working with the dagger material, but that's a long-term project unfortunately.
